Hola, Splint,

Just a lil drive-by to say I've been enjoying your bloggings.

Congrats on the awesome Bear progression!

Awesome. Like I said, I love spreading the word. DB Bear is pretty much a workout where no one will say "Oh yeah, I thought it was too easy." and if they do, you know they're full of it. It just saps the living hell out of you to where you can't even explain where the energy is coming from to finish the last 5 rounds or so.

Got through DB bear this time, had to use 40s. Unbelievable hell. Sheer heart wrenching agony. Coming from a rower, that's a lot man.

No, I used 35s for the manmakers. I am sure you could probably go higher, but since there is so much movement per rep, I see a 5 lb increase having a gigantic effect on how long you would be able to sustain effort.

Thanks for the workout idea.

I would agree the Bear is harder than the Spartan workout. I've done manmakers before but it was a long time ago. Do you use the same weight for manmakers as for the Bear?

Holy sh!t, I couldn't finish. Good to have something to work up to, I got through about 15 minutes with the 50lb DBs, it was absolute torture. Far harder than the spartan and 10-1 man makers.

Oh my god, the dumbbell bear looks f!cking awesome! Will do this friday instead of the 10-1 man-makers

Dude, I am interested in implementing cross-fit type exercises into my regime once a week. Right now I do the 300 workout for time, but I would like to try other workouts of a similar nature to mix things up.

I recently tried doing man-makers, those things are hell. Any other suggestions as the resident crossfit guy?

eh, I have respect for the powerlifts. I often do clean and presses, snatches, etc but I really don't have any set-up available to really get into it and it's not really something I'm interested in at the moment. I like just working on the from with the Olympic lifts. You don't need a lot of weight to get a good workout in. I know you weren't suggesting you did, just saying.

Splint, ever want to get interested in powerlifting? You have the drive.

I did bodyweight stuff for the longest time when I rowed, I was in amazing shape and felt like a thoroughbred on and off the water. Then I started missing the big weights. I haven't looked back since.

Want to move lots of metal?

Hi, Splint,

Just wondering, what is the object in your new avatar? Can't place it...

Thanks splint, I guess that was the answer I was looking for. Though I lack the motivation and get bored which is why I can barely last 15 minutes. I know i'm supposed to make it exciting but theres not much that you can do to make it so. I have both an exercise bike and a normal bike, and I meant a normal bike. I feel I get a better workout from that rather than the exercise one becuase of the more resistance and various intensities. Thanks for the example of what you would do, at least then I could concentrate more on that rather than how long I am riding for, that way the time would perhaps fly by alot quicker. :)

Yo splint hows it going.

I saw your picture and its a motivation for me to continue working out.

Can I ask a simple question and try to get a simple answer? I know theres always little details that need to be added on, and sometimes "It doesnt work that way" but I just need a quick answer because i'm going through a damn loophole at the moment of what to do and what not.

I'm having trouble of just trying to do 15 minutes of cardio, bike riding to be exact. And weight training is fine in a way. What can I do? How often should I be doing bike riding a week and for how long roughly? To loose fat that is. My diet isn't too shabby, I do eat junkfood but I dont eat alot.

I am all new to the world of Ashtanga yoga. I just got a book on it, the main thing I have learned is that I need to take a real class with a knowledgeable teacher. I'm curious to hear any tips/thoughts on yoga...stop on by my page sometime. Amy
